ABOUT
Sacha Sharp, PhD (she/her) is an assistant professor of medicine, Vice Chair for Strategic Engagement, and Director of Medical Education Innovation in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. She is also adjunct assistant professor in the program of Africana Studies at IUPUI and affiliate faculty with IUH HEAL-R.
Dr. Sharp earned her PhD at IU Bloomington with a higher education focus in the Department of Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies. She also earned a master in the department of Education and Human Development from the George Washington University.
Her dissertation is titled A Dramaturgical Analysis of Black Women Graduate Students’ Use of Social Media as a Space for Reclamation, Resistance, and Healing. Relatedly, Dr. Sharp’s research interests include social media use, success for underserved populations — specifically Black women, and Black health equity.

On a personal note, Dr. Sharp is a wife and mother of three. She enjoys singing, is a known movie buff, and has a growing plant collection.
